Investment advice

Swan Turton LLP is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA”) or under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (“FSMA”) to provide investment advice. However we are able in certain circumstances to offer a limited range of investment services to clients because we are regulated by the SRA. We can only provide investment services if they are an incidental part of the professional services we have been engaged to provide.

The Law Society of England and Wales (“TLS”) is a designated professional body for the purposes of FSMA, but responsibility for regulation and complaints handling has been separated from TLS’s representative functions. The SRA is the independent regulatory body of the Law Society of England and Wales. Complaints and redress mechanisms are provided through both the SRA and the Legal Ombudsman.

Swan Turton LLP is only able to provide legal advice. We do not give advice on the merits of investment transactions and nothing we say or do should be treated as an invitation or inducement to engage in investment activity or otherwise be construed as being investment advice.

Where any of our clients seek services concerning investments which are not incidental to our professional services or which we are otherwise not able to provide, we may refer our clients to someone who is authorised by the FCA.
