Lawrence Harrison

Lawrence Harrison provides legal and commercial advice on all aspects of theatre and music work including rights acquisition, development, funding, production, licensing and other exploitation of plays and subsidiary rights, both in the UK and overseas.

Theatre clients include producers, theatre owners, playwrights, directors and other creative team members. Music clients include record producers, labels, venue owners and operators, artists, conductors and agents.

Lawrence has degrees in Law from UCL and Queens’ College, Cambridge and almost 30 years’ experience of advising a wide range of clients in the creative industries. He was previously at the Simkins Partnership (1987-1998) and a founding partner of Harrison Curtis (1998-2006).

Since 2006 Lawrence has run a successful commercial and business affairs consultancy.

Lawrence joined Swan Turton as a consultant in the music and media group in July 2016.

Lawrence is a visiting lecturer at the University of Westminster School of Law, where he has developed the LLM module ‘Technology, Rights and the Law’ looking at the impact of technology on creative rights.
